Since its opening, BCG Brussels has grown rapidly and has become the consultant of choice of top Belgian companies and of European headquarters of multinationals alike. Our work covers a broad range of business issues at CEO/board level. Our primary areas of functional expertise include strategy, corporate development, operational effectiveness, and e-commerce.
The Brussels office is firmly integrated with BCG's worldwide network, providing access to global capabilities and allowing consultants to contribute to projects and knowledge-sharing initiatives abroad.
Training, ongoing staff development and day-to-day coaching receive substantial resources and attention within the Brussels office. Project team feedback and interaction provide the best opportunity for learning, apprenticeship, and development. Each consultant also receives regular training at a local and international level and is paired with a more senior consultant and mentor.
Consultants of the Brussels office also have the opportunity to transfer permanently or temporarily. Recent transfer locations include: North America (New York, Boston, and Chicago), Asia (Bangkok and Mumbai), Australia (Sydney) or Europe (Paris, London, and Zurich). Counted among the Brussels staff are a number of consultants from other countries.
BCG Brussels' vigorous growth has fostered a dynamic environment that encourages individual responsibility, openness, and entrepreneurial spirit. The environment is professional, friendly, and supportive. Regular office breakfast meetings, evening events, sports teams, an annual weekend outing, and a festive Christmas party offer opportunities for informal bonding.

Our client is one of the strongest global brands in the consumer durables industry. Under new leadership and with a stronger financial backing, the company is going through a major transformation program that implies significant shifts throughout the entire business.
Innovation is critical to the success of our client's business. A compelling and fast product flow creates advantage over the competition and enhances their position as market leader. Developing successful new products is, however, a complex process. It involves many stakeholders across all departments and regions—a global marketing and design team in Europe and in the United States and manufacturing and subcontractors located mostly in Asia.
To realize their innovation ambitions, we helped our client accelerate and differentiate the new product development process:
- Challenge the current innovation beliefs and focus
- Reengineer the process to accelerate it and make it more effective
- Ensure fact-based prioritization and trade-offs in new product development
- Strategy case for the Belgian Food Banks—As part of Brussel's social impact initiatives, we teamed with the Belgian Food Banks Association to help the organization identify its future strategic priorities. The primary mission of the Food Bank is to redistribute surplus food from the industry, retail sector, and EU agricultural programs to more than 100,000 people in need. An in-depth quantitative analysis helped us identify the untapped potential of the various surplus suppliers. The team relied on international benchmarking data, information provided by BCG experts in the food and retail industries, and dozens of interviews with current donors and non-donors. Our analysis showed that the quantities of food collected and distributed today could be doubled if the Food Banks managed to put in place a more proactive service-oriented approach toward their donors. A detailed action plan was developed, based on a clear list of priorities to focus on in the short and medium term.
