BCG's presence in Finland's capital city dates back to the late 1970s, when the company first accepted assignments for leading Finnish multinational corporations. Since then, BCG has enjoyed very strong brand recognition throughout the business community.
The Helsinki office's clients are drawn from a number of Finland's key industries, including technology and communications, mechanical engineering, pulp and paper, industrial goods, retailing, and consumer goods. Today, the BCG Helsinki office has expanded its array of services to include operations improvement, organizational change and mergers and acquisitions support, in addition to traditional strategy consultation.
BCG Helsinki is part of the BCG Nordic system and its consultants enjoy the opportunity to work in the other BCG Nordic offices in Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm. When the need arises, BCG Helsinki will call on fellow Nordics in turn, as well as on other consultants drawn from BCG's worldwide network, on behalf of its Finnish clients.
The office atmosphere retains the traditional Finnish informality and de-emphasizes hierarchical thinking. Consequently, doors are always open and the exchange of ideas is frequent and encouraged. As one might expect in a relatively small office, BCG Helsinki's staff is a very close-knit group. Its cohesiveness is reflected in the team's effectiveness in project work and pleasure in recreational activities outside the office. This camaraderie frequently impresses visitors from other offices and many of our international colleagues report that their time in Helsinki is among the most enjoyable and rewarding of their careers.
