Abu Dhabi is one of the latest additions to BCG's global network of offices. Along with our office in Dubai, Abu Dhabi plays a key role in serving clients in the rapidly developing Gulf region as well as MENA (Middle East North Africa).

Abu Dhabi is the political center of the UAE and home of fast-growing industries such as oil and gas exploration, basic materials, and heavy and light manufacturing. In addition, the city is experiencing significant growth in tourism, logistics, health care, and education.

Our office serves a wide variety of clients across these sectors, including government, multibusiness conglomerates, industrial firms, and financial service companies. The majority of project work is focused on the core BCG topics of long-term-strategy definition and new-business development, along with organization design and operational improvement.

As BCG Abu Dhabi grows, we will be hiring new consulting staff who will be complemented by experienced regional and international professionals. We strive to attract the best and brightest individuals in the Arab world, with particular attention paid to UAE talent.

In order to assist in our client's city planning initiative, we were asked to project the GDP and population growth for the next ten years. We were also asked to estimate the housing requirements for the city and whether a housing surplus or deficit would occur following the extensive residential construction undertaken by the government. Through extensive analyses of time series data we were able to develop projections for GDP, workforce and population per industry sector until 2017. We were then able to use these projections, as well as assumptions for income levels and future earning potential to assess the future housing market. Following our work, the client has decided to engage in similar projects throughout the city-state.
