The New York office of The Boston Consulting Group serves clients over a broad range of industries in the New York metropolitan area. BCG New York has grown rapidly over the past ten years and anticipates that this growth will continue.
Historically, BCG New York has focused industries as varied as consumer goods, health care, and media and entertainment. Typical projects might include a brand management strategy for an international consumer goods company, a global investment strategy for a leading investment bank, information technology strategy, and a postmerger integration project for a major pharmaceutical company.
The office contributes to BCG's overall intellectual capital through its leadership on research and reports, most recently, examining the future of the pharmaceutical industry and analyzing value creation in banks.
The BCG New York Community Service Team takes pride in enabling it staff to give back to the community through a variety of outreach opportunities. BCG volunteers participate in the NYC Mentoring Program, working with high school students one-on-one toward college preparation and in cultural activities. The BCG New York team believes in reaching out to the vital, diverse community in which we live by participating in monthly outings to help such organizations as Habitat for Humanity, NY Cares Day, September 11th response activities, and Women in Need, as well as by participating in donation drives for food, clothing, books, and support for those affected by the September 11th tragedy.
A team in the NYC office also worked with the not-for-profit New York City Partnership and a consortium of other consulting firms to assess the economic impact of the events of September 11th on the city and to develop strategic recommendations to revitalize its economy. As part of their contribution to the collaborative effort, consultants from BCG New York analyzed the impact on the city's travel and tourism, and health care sectors, and made recommendations on ways to speed their recovery.
