Since opening, BCG Brazil has focused on developing strong client relationships with both Brazilian and international companies. But BCG's work with clients in Brazil began more than two decades ago, building project teams from its worldwide offices, especially BCG Buenos Aires. The Brazil and Buenos Aires offices continue to work in close collaboration on many projects.
BCG Brazil's client roster includes companies from varied industries where opportunity emerges from endemic forces of change, such as new regulations, new competitors, new markets, or new technologies. As the telecommunications industry has been deregulated and privatized, BCG has advised an array of clients in the industry, and others, on strategy, operational effectiveness, and organization.
The small size of the São Paulo office provides an opportunity to mix consulting with entrepreneurship. The entire staff gains experience in all aspects of the consulting business and are called on to take significant responsibility from the outset. Although more than 80 percent of our staff is local, most have international experience. As we strive for innovation for our clients, our thinking is enriched by drawing on differing points of view that have been shaped by doing business in and belonging to disparate cultures, including British, American, Dutch, German, Argentinean, and Indian.
The BCG Brazil office maintains a culture that encourages intellectual development, professional challenges, and teamwork. In recent years, the office has augmented its ongoing customized training and dedicated time to make contributions to the intellectual capital of the firm through research and knowledge sharing. Together with client work, these efforts are balanced with a casual but active social life among our people, both inside and outside the office.
