Alexander Deopito joined Boston Consulting Group in 2018. He is a lead member of the Consumer practice focusing on retail. Alexander is certified as an Executive Coach by the International Coach Federation (ICF) and brings the latest insights into his coaching work with individual leaders and teams. Executive coaching and mentoring is a passion of him.

Alexander has considerable expertise in international retail, discount, private label (own brand), supply chain, and E2E product management. He has comprehensive knowledge of retail chain activities covering general management, commercial management, sourcing, assortment, category management, digitization, marketing, quality management, process optimization, realignment, restructuring, and merchandise management systems. His combination of strategic thinking and forward planning, as well as his understanding of operational business, gives Alexander special insight into his clients’ needs.

As a retail expert with a strong international focus and extensive multinational leadership experience, Alexander is able to work worldwide, especially in European, US, and Southeast Asian markets in the food retail and discount industries. He is a member of advisory and supervisory boards covering retail, manufacturing, and service for both B2B and B2C. Alexander is also passionate about working with startups and their founders.

Alexander has more than 25 years of professional experience in several management roles at LIDL and ALDI, particularly as EVP International of LIDL Group and as CEO of LIDL Austria. He is Certified Supervisory Expert, Certified Foundation Director, and Certified Business Angel.
