Axel Griewel is part of BCG Platinion’s leadership team in Austria, Germany, Poland, and Switzerland. Platinion is a unit of Boston Consulting Group that provides consulting services focused on developing IT strategies, delivering digital transformations and managing the implementation of business-critical digital solutions. Axel also leads BCG's technology and digital business within the Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) practice for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region and South America.

Axel has a background in computer science, AI, pattern recognition, and life sciences. Much of his work is centered on tech strategies including digital transformations, establishing good practices in data management and data analytics, M&A, and R&D processes applied to media, medtech, life sciences, technology, and telco players.

He previously worked as a bioinformatics research scientist at the University of Hamburg and the University of Texas.
