David Viljoen is a core member of BCG X, Boston Consulting Group’s tech build and design division. He serves as the ElevateX lead for Asia Pacific.

David has worked with clients across industries including retail, financial services, and energy, on topics in business building, innovation, marketplaces, and digital product development. In his recent engagements, he has partnered with a large grocer to validate and build a B2B marketplace, helped a bank develop a shopping proposition for GenZ customers, and built an AI platform for interpreting unstructured data from documents to power business processes.

David has many years of experience working as a founder, strategy consultant, angel investor, and business builder in Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. He has founded and exited businesses in the energy industry, and is an investor in energy technology companies in Australia and the US.
