Marc Giesener is a core member of Boston Consulting Group's Industrial Goods and Public Sector practices with a focus on aerospace and defense. Marc joined BCG in 2012 in the Chicago office and has spent time working in the Amsterdam and New York offices.

Marc primarily works on engagements in industrial goods, the public sector, aerospace and defense, defense and security, and technology. He has expertise in a wide range of topics including strategy, due diligence, operations, acquisition, procurement, open systems, innovation, and large-scale transformation.

Marc is a co-author of BCG's annual defense innovation report, The Defense Innovation Readiness Gap Series, a comprehensive review that examines the innovation activities of defense ministries globally. This report, jointly published with the Munich Security Conference, aims to assess progress and gain a deeper understanding of the fundamental issues currently hindering defense innovation. Marc is also a speaker and participant at the Munich Security Conference and Munich Leader Meetings. 

Prior to joining BCG, Marc performed organic chemistry research under Nobel Laureate Fraser Stoddart.
