Martin Tonko joined Boston Consulting Group in 2021 and is a core group member of the firm’s Industrial Goods practice. Martin works with global OEMs and suppliers from Japan, as well as foreign corporates in the Japanese automotive and industrial goods industries

Since joining BCG, Martin has led the regional carveout of captive truck financing operations for integration into a global commercial vehicle maker, supported new business creation for an innovative global tire maker, and led the joint venture setup and value creation planning for a large Japanese industry conglomerate.

Prior to joining the firm, Martin was at Roland Berger in Germany, Japan, and Southeast Asia, where he worked on automotive engagements, particularly distribution related topics with OEMs and automotive suppliers, as well as on other industrial goods topics in B2B electronics, battery materials, and construction materials.
