Matt Sweeny initially joined Boston Consulting Group in 2006 and rejoined the firm in 2018. He leads the firm's Global Advantage practice in Japan, and is a core member of the Insurance, Financial Institutions, and Principal Investors & Private Equity practices.

Matt has worked extensively with clients across most financial institutions sub-verticals, including life, health, and property and casualty insurance; retail and commercial banking; private equity; and wealth management. His recent client work includes results-driven sales and operations transformation (TURN), business and portfolio (M&A) strategy, change management, and target operating model. Matt has worked with insurers, banks, and retail/consumer companies on a range of value, process, and people topics.

Prior to rejoining BCG, Matt worked at Bain & Company in Tokyo and in Johannesburg, Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore, and Nomura Securities in Tokyo.
