Sébastien Rexhausen joined The Boston Consulting Group’s Düsseldorf office in 2004. After a year as an ambassador in the firm’s London office in 2008, he joined the Cologne office. Sébastien is a core member of BCG’s Energy practice and a member of the firm’s commodity trading and risk-management sector.
Sébastien focuses on major energy clients, supporting them on strategic and organizational topics along the value chain. He also often contributes his experience to projects involving commercial commodity-management topics such as trading, risk management, value chain steering, and procurement for international and national oil companies, utilities, and mining and metals companies, as well as soft-commodity players throughout the world.
Sébastien has worked on a number of cases involving the development of trading strategies and business models, including the operating model implications for IT. Recently he established a new commercial function for a soft-commodity player, advised a base-metals entity on a marketing partnership, and set up greenfield trading operations for a leading energy company.
