International Development

BCG constantly strives to have a profound impact on international development in low- and middle-income countries globally. To serve our clients, we draw on a combination of our global capabilities, development-sector-specific expertise and experience, and local knowledge and presence.

We believe that fulfilment of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals—from improving health care access and ending hunger to reducing inequalities and creating sustainable communities—is essential. That’s why our international development solutions draw upon the best of BCG, blending our international expertise with deep understanding of local contexts to bring about large-scale change.

Our Approach to International Development

BCG takes both its deep contextual knowledge of the international development system and awareness of key thematic challenges—combined with global functional capabilities and expertise in areas across operational excellence, technology, and AI—to create bold solutions that are attuned to the realities our clients face. Crucially, a significant share of our global staff and leadership are located full-time in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), allowing BCG to work hand-in-hand with key stakeholders where needed, and do so alongside our clients with authentically local and ground-trusted perspectives.

We support international development actors in three ways: organizational effectiveness; program strategy and design; and program delivery and execution support.
