Since 1963, BCG has grown from one individual in a room to a company with more than 32,000 employees across the globe. Throughout that time, we’ve maintained an unwavering commitment to our corporate purpose—to unlock the potential of those who advance the world.
BCG has shaped the field of business strategy while delivering sustained impact through our work with clients. We bring together diverse, global teams to tackle today’s most urgent challenges, including climate and sustainability, disruptive technologies, and ongoing economic uncertainty.
We've partnered with our clients and our collective community to address complex global problems, create economic growth and sustainable value, and have a positive impact on lives and livelihoods. And while it’s hard to quantify, here are some of the milestones we've reached:
Guided by the belief that we grow ourselves by helping others, we operate as a school for talent to shape the leaders, thinkers, and entrepreneurs of tomorrow. We prioritize collaboration, challenge the status quo, and continually strive to change lives and create socially transformative businesses that align profit with purpose. And we always aim to lead with integrity, an approach that is steeped in our values and reinforced generation after generation. Our tradition of honesty and transparency has earned us the trust of our clients, our partners, our people, and our communities.

Our 2023 Annual Sustainability Report—From Bold Ideas to Exponential Impact—tells the story of our positive impact on society. Through key metrics and the testimonials of our clients, this report showcases the many ways in which we strive to live up to our purpose: unlocking the potential of those who advance the world.
The report breaks down our sustainability approach, which focuses on four key pillars: driving social impact, protecting our planet, empowering our people, and promoting responsible business practices.
Our commitment to finding and catalyzing effective solutions to pressing societal issues is at the heart of our company’s purpose. We bring world-class expertise to the work of addressing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, helping organizations develop and focus their social impact agendas and partnering with them to build their capabilities and maximize their impact and effectiveness. We help our clients leverage their core business assets and operations to accelerate positive social impact in ways that enhance their sustainable competitive advantage, and we do so by focusing on seven key areas:

Combating the climate crisis is the defining challenge of our time and a top priority for BCG. We are partnering with businesses and governments to help them transform and build a more sustainable and resilient world. This is the right move not just for the good of the planet but also for the long-term sustainability of our clients. BCG is committed to shaping the global agenda through our climate partnerships and to leading by example by making progress on our own net zero transformation.
We have set an SBTi-validated target to reach net zero greenhouse-gas emissions across the value chain by 2050, including near-term targets to rapidly reduce our Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. We believe those that can move faster should do so, which is why we have also committed to neutralize 100% of our emissions through high-quality carbon removal credits by 2030 and to remove more carbon from the atmosphere than we emit beyond 2030.

Commitment to responsible and ethical practices defines our approach to business and engagement. We consider this long-standing commitment critical to the success of our clients and our firm. We strive to transform business and society for the better, in collaboration with our clients and suppliers and in our own operations, always guided by BCG’s values and purpose.
BCG’s Speak Up Line
As part of our ongoing effort to prevent and identify potential breaches of our values or responsible business practices, BCG offers a reporting option called the Speak Up Line. The Speak Up Line provides employees, clients, suppliers, and any other third parties an opportunity to report suspected violations of applicable law and BCG policies and values. BCG confidentially reviews and investigates received reports and may also forward them to appropriate external parties if warranted. Users of the Speak Up Line may remain anonymous when submitting a report if they choose.
Please click here to access the Speak Up Line.
The Speak Up Line covers elements of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz or “LkSG”), and may be used to report any suspected concerns in the supply chain in connection with human rights and environmental issues. You can learn more about the Rules of Procedure and the process followed once a report is received by clicking here.
