Elena Corrales is a core member of The Boston Consulting Group’s Energy and Strategy practices, and she focuses her work primarily on sustainability-related projects.

Since joining BCG in 2011, Elena has worked extensively in the green energy and environmental space, helping international companies define their sustainability positioning and strategies. She has partnered with clients to develop new business opportunities in the energy-conversion landscape, water and wastewater treatment market, and waste management space.She has extensive experience analyzing and measuring the social, environmental, and economic impact of businesses around the world.

Elena’s work has covered a wide range of sectors, including industrial goods, metals and mining, consumer goods and energy, as she has worked with clients to address issues related to water and waste management, energy efficiency, reduction of CO2 emissions, and corporate social responsibility. Elena is also part of the team leading BCG’s collaboration with the MIT Sloan Management Review, and the United Nations Global Compact LEAD Board Programme on sustainability. She also works with leading institutions in the field of sustainability such as World Business Council for Sustainable Development and World Wildlife Fund, among others.

Prior to joining BCG, Elena worked for the EU Plastics Association in the sustainability and environmental areas. She previously worked for the environmental engineering firm Ambito Consulting as an engineer in environmental impact assessment projects.
