Guy Gilliland joined Boston Consulting Group in 1999. He is a core member of BCG's Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) practice in North America, and he is a member of the firm's People & Organization practice.

As a BCG hardware and software authority, Guy is part of an integrated network of experts who share best practices and leverage crucial information on the latest trends. Guy’s project work at BCG has been with a next-generation wholesale telco, a wireline and wireless company, an optical networking industry, and an Israeli telecom-equipment manufacturer, among many others.

Before joining BCG, Guy was a professor of physics at Emory University and Arizona State University and a postdoctoral fellow at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. He has prior experience in the fields of semiconductor, device, and nanostructure physics; lasers; and ultrafast optics.

Guy has published more than 45 articles on semiconductor and laser physics. He holds two US patents.
