Matthew Harris is a core member of Boston Consulting Group's Center for CFO Excellence. He works with clients on right-sizing and simplifying the finance operating model and centralizing processes and tools through comprehensive finance transformation efforts in order to help CFOs create finance teams that balance effectiveness and efficiency. He also supports creation of supply chain teams (often closely tied to the CFO) for similar outcomes.

Matt is currently focused on understanding the impacts of generative and traditional AI on the finance function. He is one of the firm's core subject matter experts on centralizing finance work through captive and outsourcing centers and financial planning and analysis centers of excellence. He has operational background in financial analysis, and has worked in finance roles both in house and consulting roles in various industries, including big tech, energy, defense, and industrial goods companies.

Since joining the firm in September 2022, Matt's engagements having included leading diagnostics and roadmap development for various finance and supply chain functions, delivering operating model implementations, and supporting BCG efforts to better understand use cases for GenAI. Before joining the firm, Matt worked at Meta, Deloitte, and Chevron, and served for four years active and three years in the Reserves as a Captain in US Army.
