Rafael Rilo is the Iberia chair of Boston Consulting Group and a core member of BCG’s Industrial Goods practice focused on engineered products and infrastructure.
Since joining BCG in 1992, Rafael has worked primarily with clients in the industrial goods and infrastructure sectors, helping them address their key operational and strategic issues and manage large-capital projects. His engagements have included developing market-entry strategies, commercial strategies, and business plans, as well as addressing efficiency improvement and transformation/restructuring programs.
Rafael is very active in the infrastructure space, where he is experienced in working with many different types of assets: airports, highways, ports, railways, mines, power generation facilities, power transmission lines, gas transportation, water treatment and transportation. His work has covered activities across the entire value chain: design and engineering, construction, EPC, operation, and servicing.
Rafael also has acquired significant experience in a broad number of industrial sectors such as aerospace, automotive components, building materials, ceramics, electronic components, machine tools, rolling stock, shipbuilding, and steel among others.
Prior to joining BCG, Rafael was a second lieutenant in the Spanish Air Force, and a summer associate in the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley.
