Vincent Lui leads Boston Consulting Group’s Consumer practice in Asia Pacific. He joined in 1998. He has acquired extensive experience in developing strategy and improving operational performance for various consumer and retail companies.
Vincent’s client work has included redesigning models for sourcing and category management for a top grocery chain in China, identifying key ways to improve performance. He also developed and helped implement a digital transformation strategy for a Chinese retail conglomerate with department store, mall, and grocery formats. This effort entailed benchmarking global trends and local lessons, conducting in-depth analysis of consumers’ omnichannel needs, and reformulating organization, core processes, and KPIs, among other things.
Vincent has engaged in numerous projects to assist a global apparel and footwear company that has a large brick-and-mortar and online footprint in China. Working with this client, he has developed multiple five-year commercial strategies as well as brand positioning, merchandising, and franchise management.
New sports categories, influential sports communities, and a more serious approach to fitness are just a few of the many factors propelling strong growth over the coming decades.
