Food System Transformative Integrated Policy for Sub-Saharan Africa
Food systems play a central role in African countries’ social and economic structures, providing the primary source of livelihood for >60% of Sub-Saharan Africa’s population. Africa is also one of the world's most vulnerable regions to climate change. The Food System Transformative Integrated Policy (FS-TIP) initiative was launched in collaboration with coalition partners, to support African governments to address and strengthen food systems in a holistic way, guided by 11 principles. This brief introduces the initiative's objectives and shares its unique approach to transformation.
