BCG’s Christoph Schweizer Calls for Climate Activists to Join Consultancy
The firm is gearing up to win more climate-related work as competition in the sector increases
The race to win work advising on digital and sustainability projects means consultancies are hiring more data scientists and experts in climate and sustainability as they shift away from their traditional base of recruits with a business background. “We are now at this point where I can credibly say we want climate activists to join BCG,” says Schweizer. “It’s a bit of a surprise. No consulting executive would have said that two or three years ago.” But for employers in today’s talent market, it’s necessary to win hearts and minds. And for companies operating in today’s business context, it’s necessary to slow global warming.
