In Connecticut, close to one in five young people aged 14 to 26 are at-risk or disconnected, a crisis that hinders their ability to become financially self-sufficient and adversely impacts the state’s economic prospects. Getting these young people reengaged and back on track will take the efforts of many stakeholders. But recommendations sourced from 100+ leaders across the state offer promise, not just for this affected group but for the state’s prosperity in the future. These best practices include shining a brighter light on the current crisis, improving coordination between service providers, expanding providers’ capacity to offer support, and increasing investments in effective programs.
