Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) is pivotal in supporting Malaysia’s ambition of becoming an innovation hub, acting as a key pillar in the investment ecosystem. However, despite notable growth globally, Malaysia’s CVC activity has yet to gain the same traction as some of its Southeast Asian counterparts.

To explore the factors shaping Malaysia’s CVC landscape, Capital Markets Malaysia in collaboration with BCG and BCG X, surveyed business leaders in Malaysian corporates. This report captures insights into their innovation ambitions, perceptions of CVC, and the primary barriers hindering the establishment and scale-up of CVC.

It also identifies three key levers that could catalyze a stronger CVC ecosystem in the country.
