Leadership Greater Chicago (LGC), a prominent organization in civic leadership development, wanted to broaden and strengthen its reach in the local community. BCG partnered with LGC to help deliver a strategic plan that would bring these goals within reach.
The BCG team not only helped LGC fashion a new long-term strategic plan but also joined the organization’s year-long Signature Fellows Program as individual participants. The LGC program immerses promising leaders from the private, nonprofit, and public sectors in the major socioeconomic issues facing the Greater Chicago area.
LGC’s new three-year strategic plan is helping the organization attract, connect, and mobilize leaders to effect transformative civic change. LGC’s programs are currently held in 20% of Chicago’s 77 neighborhoods. The organization invests more than $180,000 each year to ensure participation in its programs by the public and nonprofit sectors.
The LGC Fellows experience has enabled in-depth learning about complex urban issues and has helped sharpen the analytical skills needed for participants to effect meaningful change. BCG team members have participated in the Fellows program since 2007, and they have helped connect Chicago leaders and mobilize them into action.
