Stéphane Israël joins Boston Consulting Group (BCG)

Paris—Stéphane Israël, 54, has joined Boston Consulting Group’s Paris office as part of the Industrial Goods practice.

With over 15 years’ experience in the defense and aerospace industries, Stéphane Israël will bring his expertise to BCG's French and international clients operating in these strategic industries.

Stéphane Israël began his career as an auditor and conseiller référendaire (legal advisor) at the French audit court in 2001, specializing in national defense, space, and industry. In 2007, he joined Airbus Group as Vice President, holding several key roles before becoming Chief of Staff to the Minister of Industrial Renewal in 2012.

In 2013, he was appointed Chairman and CEO of Arianespace, the European leader in commercial space launch services, a role he held until 2017. From 2017 to 2021, he also served as Director of Civil Programs at ArianeGroup, a subsidiary of Arianespace. Since April 2017, Stéphane Israël has been Executive Chairman of Arianespace and a member of the ArianeGroup Executive Committee. He joins BCG as a Partner and will become a Managing Director and Partner in the coming months. He will be part of the Industrial Goods practice, led in France by Jérôme Rein, Managing Director & Senior Partner.

Before joining BCG, Stéphane Israël also served as Chairman of the Audit Committee (from 2018) and Lead Independent Director (from 2020) of the Carrefour Group.

He is a graduate of the École Normale Supérieure (ENS), the École Nationale d'Administration (ENA), and holds an agrégation in history. He has been Chairman of the École Normale Supérieure Foundation since 2013.
