Accelerating BCG's Climate Journey
Four years into our net zero journey, we’re making great progress. In this article, we highlight our progress so far, key challenges we've addressed, and the next steps in our climate program.
BCG has a bold climate transition plan. We have set an SBTi-validated target to reach net zero greenhouse-gas emissions across the value chain by 2050, including near-term targets to rapidly reduce our Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. We believe those that can move faster should do so—which is why we have also committed to neutralize 100% of our emissions through high-quality carbon removal credits by 2030 and to remove more carbon from the atmosphere than we emit beyond 2030.
While our single greatest climate impact will come through our net zero consulting—supporting clients as they navigate the net zero transition and helping them thrive in a low-carbon economy—we also want to lead by example by reducing the negative climate impact of our own operations and value chain.

Climate action is one of our most urgent challenges. As we partner with our clients to help them realize their net zero strategies and navigate the low-carbon transition, we must also continue to change the way we operate as a firm. Our net zero commitments and the climate investments we are making are evidence of the impact we are determined to have.
Our greatest opportunity to tackle the climate crisis comes from collaborating with our clients. The BCG Center for Climate & Sustainability partners with businesses and governments to help them transform commitments into action. Together, we can build a low-carbon environment and a more sustainable world, driving technological and economic transformations to realize sustainable competitive advantage.
