Black@BCG Brazil was formed in March 2020 of an initiative led by two consultants from the Sao Paulo office. We seek to attract, retain and develop black people to become leaders, as well as to disseminate knowledge about important issues for awareness (e.g. unconscious biases, etc.) and to build an equal environment with a culture of inclusion.

AccessAbility@BCG, our global community was launched in May 2020 and has more than 600 members across 100+ offices. We believe that passionate, open-minded, and talented team members, regardless of their physical ability or neurodiversity, enable us to provide diversity of thought, challenge established mindsets and devise innovative solutions for our clients and our firm. With that in mind, in order to unlock the potential of those who advance the world, we are committed to promote a diverse and inclusive environment, prioritizing three accessibility focus areas:
BCG in Brazil is an active participant in a program called “cross office projects,” in which our consultants work on a short-term project in another country. This is an opportunity to gain international experience without having to relocate. Another possibility is to transfer to another city, to a nearby country, or to another part of the world (typically 12 to 24 months or permanently). BCG’s global footprint gives our consultants the flexibility to change locations according to their evolving needs or goals.
Consultants in Brazil also take advantage of our secondment program, in which selected employees gain experience outside BCG by working for 6 months up to a year at one of Growth Tech Companies or for one of our global/local social impact partners.
Instituto Ayrton Senna is a leading NGO in Brazil, focused on children’s education. The institute's programs develop innovative social technologies that are implemented, evaluated, and disseminated all over Brazil to offer human development opportunities for children and young people. The programs have had had an impact on more than 6.5 million children in the past 12 years. We have helped them develop their strategy, improve their fund-raising, and increase their reach and impact with Brazilian children.
One of the main characteristics of our office is the collaborative environment. On an employee’s first day, there is a great deal of training available, as well as constant feedback that supports each individual to progress in his or her career. The hard work is also compensated by relaxing and entertaining activities, including a monthly happy hour, an animated end-of-year party, and our enthusiastic soccer and volleyball teams that participate in an international tournament every year, as well as our running team.
At BCG, there are no two days alike. You are often dealing with something new, sometimes totally unknown. New, challenging questions pop up all the time. Dealing with these questions definitely pushes us out of our comfort zone. It is quite a ride.
I came to BCG seeking new challenges and opportunities for development—and found everything I expected and much more! I feel happy to be in a relaxed and collaborative work environment, make great friends, and at the same time generate immense value for our clients. I discovered BCG for the first time when the firm held an event at the college where I was an undergraduate. I became excited about the work that BCGers do. After BCG hired me, I witnessed the extremely collaborative climate that exists among the employees, as well as the magnitude of the projects we undertake.
I chose to work at BCG mainly because I liked the culture I found here and because of the BCGers I met during the selection process. Even with just a few, short interactions, I could tell that BCG was a special place to work, and I wanted to be part of that.
I was working at another consulting firm when I joined BCG. BCG does not recruit only people who have the brain power. BCGers are extremely intelligent and competent people, but they also know how to be simple, collaborative, and adaptable.
In my last year at college, I decided to intern at BCG because of the diversity of experiences I could have. After joining BCG, I felt integrated into the team and liked the people right away. The collaborative environment of the firm was an essential part of my apprenticeship.
